WINE DOWN

The house was nice but did have an odor from strong cleaners used the bottom floored bedroom was unusable due to it, other than that it was a great place to stay.

My family of 5 loved the wine down! My teenagers enjoyed fishing off the dock, cooking out, and kayaking. The house was clean, comfortable and very accomadting! I especially found the lists of local grocery stores, bait shops, cafes, etc to be very helpful! The location is close to the beach and so peaceful yet close enough to get back to all the activities Galveston has to offer.

This is our second summer vacation at this location! Beautiful scenery, clean house and great , friendly staff! Would recommend this spot to anyone! Our family had a fabulous time!

Location of the house was great, layout was good for our party. The downstairs bedroom only had downstairs access.
Downstairs bedroom area was unable to use for sleeping due to moldy smell, mold on back of bathroom door and walls, it had a AC dehumidifier in this room but smell was awful even after spraying with frebreeze. We did call the management Company, with no return call or solutions. We did use the shower in the bottom portion of this unit, limited amount of time spent due to smell.
Therefore we had to make different sleeping arrangements upstairs for our party.
Upstairs main house was clean and laid out as described. Need to remove note from toilet to "wiggle handle" as kids don't remember to do this.
Home offered poles, kayaks, life jackets, bait buckets most everything you need for your stay, we did not use these items as we took our own but think this is important information to know so maybe next person won't haul so much.
Overall stay was good, but this is only a 2 bedroom house until they get something done with the lower portion of the home.

I am hesitant to recommend until the bottom bedroom area is fixed. If you are just able to use the upper unit I would recommend.

We came down to Galveston for a quick weekend getaway and to do some fishing and it was probably one of the better fishing trips we have had in a long time. It was great fishing at this house

This home is in a corner location with a boating lift , and green fishing lights. House was clean and beyond what’s advertised. House is fully equipped with Canal kayaks and a floating swimming mat, and plenty of beach toys, didn’t have to go out and buy beach toys for the kids. House is fully supplied and has an out door kitchen.

The house was clean and a nice location and lots of things to play in the water with! Will definitely be a reoccurring visitor!

This place really is amazing. My husband and I planned on sleeping in the room on the bottom because my 14 year old daughter felt safer upstairs not knowing anything about the area. We were shocked to see a bunkbed and a twin bed in the bottom room and the 2 top rooms had king beds. The bottom of the bunkbed was a full size so my husband and I did stay in the bottom room . It was amazing to wake up and walk out the door and be able to fish or just jump into the water. The view was amazing. We met the owners the second day and were pleasantly surprised they were so nice and accommodating. They even took us out on their boat during out stay. There are kayaks and paddle boards and a huge floating mat and bikes that go along with the house. This place had everything. We brought our own kayaks and my husband spent 3 days fishing on his kayak and cought so many fish. He likes to catch and release. There is an elevator which was amazing for my inlaws. It was a huge bonus. The outside kitchen was great for cold drinks by the canal. We rented a golf cart from Rick's for the week. That is definitely a must. We drove it everywhere. We got to see all the beautiful homes in the community and drive it to the beach. If you get a golf cart I suggest to get an electric one because the gas one was so loud. This honestly was the best and most relaxing vacation I have ever had. We will definitely be back.

we loved the rental plenty of room for the 8 of us. very clean. and lots of floats and toys for the kiddos. will stay there again. and yes there is a house conntected to wine down and it was rented but there is enough room between the two that you do not hear or bother each other. so dont let that stop you from renting. it was nice having a outdoor kitchen downstairs. we just loved this place.

The location of the property was awesome. The beach was a quick 2 minute drive and the house being on the canal was great. There is a great breeze underneath the house. This is where we spent most of our time. The house is in need of some updating. The bathrooms have been renovated but the shower was small. The kitchen needs a deep clean and updating. There is no oven even though they listed they had one. Overall the house wasn’t so bad we had to leave but we wouldn’t rent it again.

We truly enjoyed our time at Wine Down. We had several family members and friends that came and went and there was plenty of room. The kitchen was well stocked (though randomly organized). I would suggest bringing more towels as we were there for a week and had wash and share the ones available. At first we couldn't find the washer and dryer, but did eventually when we went on the back balcony and walked between the two rooms. (We called the rental agency and they told us they'd been sold :-)) I couldn't give the rental agency 5 stars because we had difficulty getting answers to questions, however, it was a busy weekend/week so that may have been the reason. Overall extremely happy and would rent again. One thing I would hope is that if a family wants to rent both Wine Down and Wine Time, that a discount could be offered. We wanted to rent the smaller unit next door as well, but the price was just too high. On the last day, another family stayed there and it was too close. If we didn't choose this location in the future, it would be for that reason.

This was our second year staying here. We came last year when both wine time and wine down were one rental. This year they split it but we liked it so much we rented both units even if we did have to pay double the fees. Sadly, we were very disappointed with the maintenance this year. Both houses are infested with huge roaches, spiders and ants. The roaches were everywhere, they even crawled on my baby when one ran across the bed. Also, one of our toilets was broken. The tank took almost an hour to fill up with water. When I called the after hours for a service call, I got a voicemail, so I left a message, but nobody came or even returned my call. I think if they increase the fees, increase the maintenance along with it. We were eating at the dining table, and I almost fell out of a chair that’s being held together by a piece of rope. Too bad this place has gone down, we really enjoyed it last year.

Had an amazing time at the The Wine Down with the family. The pictures don’t do any justice on how great this place really is. Plenty of room and things to do. Only bad thing I can say about this place is we didn’t book to stay long enough. Next time we’re definitely bringing the kids. Looking forward to renting the place out again!

We had a wonderful time at this house. It's very clean, spacious and the layout was perfect for my family. I would definitely return again.

This property is amazing! You have so much room to spread out. Our family stayed in one house and the grandparents stayed in the loft. Each has amazing balconies and views. Two boat docks, a kayak you can use, very nice furniture everywhere outside! You get the whole corner lot so you have plenty of room to fish. They have 2 underwater lights to use that we caught lots of fish in. Inside the houses, they are decorated very nicely. The beds were all super comfortable. I really can’t say enough good things about this place. We will be back next summer for sure!!

This location is much more than you can imagine by looking at the pictures. Very clean, lots of room to be comfortable, plenty of outdoor spaces, decks overlooking the canals, I can't describe how wonderful this place is. My family hopes to go back next year.
